INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CORPORATION OF MALAYSIA
EXAMINATION FOR PATENT AGENTS REGULATION 45D, PATENTS REGULATIONS 1986

The Board of Examiners of Patent Agents, Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) will be conducting examinations for patent agent candidates on 30 November to 04 December 2020.
 

Qualified candidates are invited to register by filing Form 18A either manually with a fee RM140.00 or via on-line with a fee RM130.00. A further RM140.00 (manual fee) or RM130.00 (e-filing fee) is levied for each subject to be taken as follows:-

• i) Technology
• ii) Malaysian Patent Law & Practice (including Patent Drafting)
• iii) Malaysian Trade Mark and Designs Law and Practice (including Geographical Indication)
• iv) Foreign Industrial Property Law and Practice

The syllabus and sample questions are available for RM10.00 from the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia. Please take note that, the syllabus for Technology Subject will be updated based on new revised materials.

Candidates are advised that they should possess an engineering or science degree or be Advocates and Solicitors of The High Court in Malaya or Advocates of The High Court in Sabah and Sarawak to enable them to be registered as patent agents as provided under Regulation 45C(2)(b), Patents Regulations 1986.

Applications should be submitted before or by 17 September 2020.
